Dec. 2nd, 2025 07:15 pmThe nurse's office is usually a quiet place. Most of the traffic is for band-aids and maybe painkillers, dropping off forms. It's an excellent place to pick up service hours, study in uninterrupted peace, and try to stay on top of all the extra programs you have to do if you're going to be the least impressive scion of a family that's otherwise the greatest medical talents imaginable.
The actual nurse is doing paperwork, quite at ease leaving her assistant at the front desk. Nicky himself is only partially visible behind his stack books. The glasses slipping down his nose and his crooked ponytail peek around the edges of two textbooks, a stuffed binder, a neat daybook, and a pencil case shaped like a fish on top. He's allowed exactly that much whimsy.
At the sound of a commotion in the hall, his shoulders stiffen and he tries to shrink further before he's even thought it through. He doesn't get a lot of peace at home, and if someone's yelling, it's usually his cousin, and he's usually about to have a terrible time.
But no, that's students in the hallway, and almost certainly not his cousin unless the big jerk wants to go out of his way to harass him in public. Which means someone's headed to the nurse's office and it may be time to actually do his job. That's a fair price for his comfortable seat. He hasn't quite convinced himself to stop hiding by the time the door opens, though.
